Aurora Couple Embarks on 700 km Walk Around Prince Edward Island to Combat Food  Insecurity

 Age is just a number when you’re walking for a cause! 

Meet George (73) and Erlinda (85) Biondic of Aurora—an inspiring couple who are proving that compassion, endurance, and purpose have no age limit.

Starting June 20, they’ll embark on an epic 700-kilometre walk around the entire coastline of Prince Edward Island to raise awareness and funds for food banks, including the Aurora Food Pantry and PEI Food Banks.

You may remember them from 2022, when they walked 90km from Toronto to Barrie for George’s 70th birthday, raising thousands for our pantry. Now, they’re going even bigger.

“Let’s go big this time. No wimping out. We’ll never regret doing good,” says Erlinda, who just turned 85. 

This walk is about more than distance—it’s about shining a light on food insecurity in Canada and inspiring others (especially seniors!) to stay active and get involved.
